PM says Russia can join world leading software suppliers
SAROV, Nizhny Novgorod Region, Feb 19 (PRIME) -- Russia can become one of the world’s main suppliers of software products, but the industry cannot have a permanent leader, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Friday at a meeting.
“Why is this task so important for us? We can solve it, that is why. Maybe, another country, a smaller one with a different scientific potential, a different history and undeveloped mathematical schools, cannot do that, but we have capacities and competences, lots of talented people, who are involved into the industry, and, of course, our country can enter this market,” Medvedev said.
The country can “move from a range of users to the range of developers and suppliers”, he said.
“Nobody can gain an absolute leadership in this industry; it’s evident that there will be endless competition between certain states,” Medvedev said.
“Potential of the internal market is huge in this sphere; its capacities are limitless.”
